The Russian Police Choir, officially known as the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Choir is one of the successor of “Red Army Choir” has been established in 1939. General Victor Eliseev became director of MVD Ensemble in 1985. it consists of 70 military man.
It is the only military body having received the “Star Platinum”, on the avenue dedicated to great Russian artists.
Ensemble MVD has realized more than seven thousand performances in several languages and gathered more than 20 million viewers worldwide.
The choir has performed on all continents and twice for the Olympic Games.
The Ensemble’s repertoire, such as Katyusha, Kalinka, Kernina and Ave Maria, is more than 1000 songs from traditional Russian music, sacred music, opera arias and pop music.
However they became more recognized and popular worldwide now with their recorded video performance of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” The YouTube cover has over 2,5 million views so far on YouTube.
